1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold the International Conference on World Heritage Interpretation 2025 at Konkuk University in Seoul, on April 18, in collaboration with the Korean National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS-Korea), the International Centre for the Interpretation and Presentation of World Heritage Sites (WHIPIC), and the International Committee on Interpretation and Presentation (ICOMOS-ICIP).
2. Since 2016, the Korean government has been hosting the International Conference on World Heritage with the aim of raising awareness and facilitating discussions on the subject. At this year’s conference, themed “Principles and Implementation of Heritage Interpretation for Conflict Resolution and Peace Building,” experts from Korea and abroad in the heritage field, including President of ICOMOS Teresa Patricio, will engage in three sessions of discussion on April 18.

3. The upcoming conference is expected to serve as an opportunity to contribute to the advancement of heritage interpretation by exploring ways to resolve conflicts surrounding World Heritage interpretation and discussing potential institutional improvements in the field.
